Her style is effortless, her character is wise and her designs are legendary.

Diane von Furstenberg, the iconic designer who for those who may not know, created the wrap dress back in 1974, and since then, that dress has become a timeless piece in fashion history.

I recently picked up the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar and read the six page Q&A on the designer who’s thoughtful insight graced the pages with her confidence.

Asked the popular and unsurprising question, “How would you describe your own style?” DVF said, “I’d like to think that my style and the clothes I design are effortlessly elegant and sexy…I think there’s nothing more beautiful than a woman who’s confident.”

Personally, I think DVF is such a great powerful female figure in the fashion industry and an inspiration to not only young designers but to young women everywhere that want to be successful–no matter what kind of business or industry. She is a feminist, a grandmother and the ultimate style expert.

I am looking forward to meeting her at the end of October! I’m going to Teen Vogue’s Fashion University in New York the weekend of October 23rd where I will get to rub elbows with holy fashion designers, editors and other prominent professionals in the industry. DVF is the keynote speaker and for that matter, the key person I will be looking out for that weekend.
